What can I do next as:

A beginner

• Start a personal learning folder.
• Complete the palliAGED Introduction Modules and add the completion certificates to my learning folder.

An intermediate learner

• Access the palliAGED Improving Care pages for more tips and discuss these with my supervisor.
• Complete the ELDAC personal learning assessment (657kb pdf).
• Do some online training e.g. PalliBytes, Equip Aged Care Learning and The Advance Project (Dementia) for nurses.
• Use the palliAGEDnurse app.

An advanced learner

• Explore the palliAGED Evidence and Improving Care pages online.
• Read CareSearch Clinical Evidence summaries on symptom management.
• Make use of the ELDAC toolkits.
• Sign up for online training such as:

  • End-of-Life Essentials.

What can my organisation do for:

Beginners

• Download the palliAGED Embedding Palliative Care Learning in Practice Service Solution, for four easy steps to implementing palliative care training and evaluation for beginners through to advanced learners.
• Order palliAGED Practice Tip Sheet booklets for all staff members as part of induction.
• Ask to install palliAGED Introduction Modules onto the local LMS.
• Print out palliAGED Tip Sheets for the staff room.
• Discuss how the palliAGED Practice Tip Sheet topics overlap with the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

Intermediate learners

• Use selected palliAGED Tip Sheets and Introduction Modules to start discussions about local care issues.
• Use palliAGED service solution resources to deliver targeted education and identify a practice measure to evaluate change.
• Arrange for an onsite PEPA workshop.

Advanced learners

• Promote online education including the National Palliative Care program courses listed on the palliAGED website.
• Promote the palliAGED evidence summaries and invite staff to contribute to policy development.
• Promote the ELDAC toolkits.
• Use the CareSearch guide to establish a journal club to build knowledge.
• Arrange for Reverse PEPA placements.
