Content

This eLearning course helps careworkers, assistants in nursing, or support workers to understand advance care planning and palliative care for patients with dementia. The course includes 7 modules involving content on:

  • describing what advance care planning and palliative care are, and how they are relevant for a person living with dementia
  • recording and communicating distress observed in people living with advanced dementia
  • supporting families to record and communicate distress they observe in a person living with advanced dementia.

Beginner to intermediate.

Target audience

Careworkers, assistants in nursing, support workers.

Time to complete

Approximately 2 hours to complete all seven modules.

The Advance Project offers a range of learning options to support the provision of palliative care and advance care planning in everyday practice.
