A suite of eLearning modules explores the aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture relevant to the palliative and end-of-life care journey, and the commonly practised cultural protocols associated with returning to spirit (death and dying). The online learning resources are divided into the following five categories:

  • Introduction to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander palliative care and cultural practice
  • Safe communication
  • Supporting Choices at End-of-Life
  • Strengthening partnerships
  • Community engagement

Each category is divided into three parts.

The Gwandalan Dillybag is an applied and interactive toolkit aimed to provide frontline staff with appropriate tools (resources and information) to support the delivery of culturally safe and responsive palliative and end-of-life care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.

The Gwandalan series of webinars are for people who want to know more about cultural safety and appropriateness when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in palliative care settings.
